Trunk or treat

Adam has a thing for trains, he just loves them and loves the "Freight Trian" book we read to him every day. If you ask him what a train says he will automatically tell you "choo choo"! that is why I thought that making a train for his Halloween costume would be fitting. Adam seemed to be on board with the idea too. (pardon the puns!)
he tried it on during production
and the finished product was so cute
but when it came time to put on his hat and bandanna.... well you can see how he liked that!
he had the train on for about 20 seconds before the evening was over
Kyle didn't mind his monkey costume
and Aunt Milla even dressed up
Kyle didn't even mind the train
alas, this is how Adam spent the majority of the evening. Thanks Aunt Milla for taking the boys around while Nathaniel and I went to the Real SL game!

Two-year-old Terror!

I am so happy to have Nathaniel home after a week long business trip to Denver.  Adam took it upon himself  to remind me, in every way he could, how very alone I was, and how much I depend on Nathaniel for my sanity. Though this week was rough, I am sure this weekend would have been a nightmare to deal with if not for my hubby's calming influence.  I was even calm enough to take some pictures of his back to back terrors.
Sunday shortly before church we came downstairs to make sure Adam was ready to go.

a whole 8 ounces of brand new acrylic white paint, no longer in the bottle, but all over my son, the carpet and the couch (he is lucky he didn't get my new shoes)  we spent the next 45 mins trying to get it all cleaned up
we were only a little late for church :p
and this morning, butter popcorn powder, same couch cushion , breathe. at least this was easier to clean, and I made Adam do most of the cleaning
Someone please tell me this is just a phase!

oh boy(s)!

They are both growing so quickly
 Just hanging out
Kyle is very quick at taking away his smile when he sees the camera, this is the end part of one of his fantastic smiles!
The new playroom (closet under the stairs)

Kyle has cute chubby legs, arms, belly, and face and I can't resist eating him up!
 My happy boys!

Happy Anniversary... Celebration!

This year Nathaniel really wanted to do some hiking for our Anniversary (and if he really had it his way it would have been camping too)  But often when it reaches our anniversary it is just to chilly up in the mountains.  We decided to celebrate a few weeks early this year.  Thank you Thank you to Grandma Gleason and Aunt Milla who watched and took care of the boys during our over night trip.
The morning we left Adam was being so sweet to Kyle.
Our first stop was Tucano's at the Gateway in Salt Lake, then on to window shopping at city creek center.
We spent the night in a Hotel and had fun being the only ones taking advantage of the swimming pool and the hot tub.
In the morning we went up cottonwood canyon and went on an amazing hike.  The weather was perfect and the colors were breathtaking.
I had been under the impression somehow that the hike was 3 miles round trip tops... I was mistaken and we ended up hiking 3.5 miles straight up the mountain. 7 miles round trip, we made it, and we celebrated.
Love you so much Schatzie! you are my everything and you have given me the best three years of my life!
