would you like fries with that?
The boys all play so nicely together most a lot of the time and this was one such time. Colin was playing on the floor and his older brothers lovingly took the pepper grinder and peppered his head. Some of the things they find amusing... I just don't know :)
Reflections from a rough weekend
This weekend stunk, literally and figuratively. Friday, while enjoying some down time in the evening, I heard a large bang coming from the direction of the garage. I went to investigate but seeing no immediate danger or destruction, I left it for the next day to figure it out. It turns out that the spring for the garage door completely snapped in two. Dad called the repair guy, made an appointment, and by the afternoon and after $500 plus, it was fixed with new springs, cables and wheels. Also, the washing machine broke. right before the spin cycle. it needed a new part and dad was able to fix it at a lot less then the repair man would have charged, so that was a blessing. the down side was that the clothes got pretty stinky be fore we could get them all clean again. Dads truck broke down and that cost over $300 for three hours of labor and the mechanic didn't even fix the problem.
While the boys were supposed to be taking a nap on Saturday, I heard Kyle yell in pain. I ran towards his bedroom only to find him and his older brother playing in two inches of standing water in the bathroom. They had tried to flush a couple small lids down the toilet and were thrilled by the fact that the endeavor resulted in a mini swimming pool. By some miracle, it only got a couple inches into the carpet. We got to the rest of it with towels and buckets very quickly so it didn't damage anything else.
Then there was this morning. The boys were taking a bath in the tub and Colin was in his bumbo. Dad was watching them until I came in to get a hug and kiss. Adam started saying "look at Colin!" we turned around to see Colin under water and I totally lost it. Dad rescued him and Colin was understandably a little freaked out but otherwise fine. I have never been so scared in my life. It took me a long time to stop sobbing. After all is said and done, the damage to material things just doesn't matter. They are just things and it is just money. My family is the most important thing in the world to me. I don't know what I would do without any of them.

Triangles
Adam is loving preschool, and he is learning a lot. Today during nap time for the other boys, he wanted to use his scissors to make triangles, This weeks shape is Triangle. Then he wanted me to get a picture of his hard work. Good work Adam!

pumpkin harvest
Today we collected all our pumpkins from our one pumpkin plant. There were 19 in all. The boys were super excited to see all those big orange pumpkins and they are happy for the reminder that Halloween is just around the corner.
I love that my boys love their daddy. This is an image that we see often when he comes home from work!

29
My birthday was great. Nathaniel was able to stay home from work and took the boys shopping to the dollar stor to get gifts. Then My husband and I went out to lunch and then the whole family went on a little outing to the temple. It was Monday so it was closed but that was perfect. The Boys got to touch the Temple and see where mommy and daddy were married. Thanks boys! it was a great day. And thanks dad for taking so many pictures!

purple?
While Dad has been working on the sprinklers the boys have been working on their creativity. I don't know exactly how, but Adam and Kyle were able to get into the pvc pipe primer and cement. Nathaniel has a hard time taking those lids off so he thought the boys would have no chance. Assumptions may be a little dangerous. I came out to find my two-year-old with lovely purple hair.
And a big spot on the front step
no amount of soap, scrubbing and brushing has been able to take it out, I am actually pleased that I didn't start yelling as soon as I found this.
Adam said he had no part of it, but his purple fingers told a different story.
At least boys don't look bad with really short hair, that's the only way it will all come off!
