gratitude in California

Our long awaited Thanks giving trip to California was fantastic. The boys were so excited to go to "Calafunga" and to visit their Aunts and Uncles. Mom was super excited to have daddy come with us this time.  We woke up early Saturday morning and Caravaned with Aunt Brianne, Uncle Dustin, and Aunt Milla.  We were supposed to be out running a huge storm and we mostly missed it. We passed no fewer than five brilliant rainbows on our way. Many of them double rainbows.

For family night we headed to old Folsom and went ice skating on their outdoor rink.  The weather was so nice and Adam and Kyle loved skating around and around. It was so fun to watch too.

Kyle's feet were just barely big enough to fit in their smallest skates.

By the end Adam really got the hang of going solo on his little skater.
One Wednesday, a lot of the family got to go to the Sacramento temple for a session. The others went Saturday morning.

Again, the weather was perfect. Later we were able to get family pictures taken with all the Cooks (Murdocks too!) that was a lot of fun. Mom was able to finish a big puzzle while Dad introduced and played minecraft with pretty much everyone.
Thanksgiving meal was wonderful and delicious. Colin celebrated by having his first tooth break through. Grandma and Grandpa Bassett were their as well as most of the Bassett cousins. It was great to chat and play games. On Friday there was a lot of free time which equates to projects and games at the Cook household.

Mom was able to make Colin's stocking in time for decorating when we got home. The Aunts made and decorated a lot of cakes...which we sadly did not eat but it was fun watching the process anyway. Kyle could be found at any given time, jumping on the trampoline and exploring the tree house. Adam was always up for a game of minecraft. He also hung out with uncle Jared all the time. Where Jared was, so was Adam. Adam told me that Jared was his favorite friend.

We also decorated the Christmas tree and listened to Christmas music.
On Saturday we went to see the Salmon run and later celebrated Aunt Emma's Birthday. 17 years old!
We are truly thankful for all these blessings. The fun, family, views, work, play, and mostly, time shared together with the people we love. Thank you all for making it such a wonderful trip!
We are also thankful that we are now home safely.

this years letter to Santa,

the boys were so excited to write a letter to Santa. They dictated what they wanted to say to me.  I loved how when Kyle said he wanted candy Adam piped up that he wanted some too so Kyle included his brother. Also he is a pretty random kid. they make me smile.

Halloween, Party time

It makes a beg difference when your kids understand and get excited for all aspects of Halloween

Kyle and mom tore up the dance floor at Dads Work Party

Superman Adam, Monkey Colin and Pirate Kyle
It was very difficult to get them all seated and looking at the camera, they were super excited
kyle was great at saying thank you, Adam too
A cool family in our ward had an amazing corn maze in their yard. the boys loved it!
all in all the boys had way to much candy and so much fun. Adam was on a sugar high and "flew" from house to house. Kyle came up to me when we got home and said "I tired, ni night time" and he said goodnight to dad and put himself to bed. Colin went to bed the earliest at around 6:30. Im already looking forward to Halloween next year.
