30 on the 30th!!!

Dad turned the big 30 this year and we sure had fun celebrating his golden birthday! We went out to dinner at Chili's and then met his Utah siblings, Bassett Grandparents and cousin Jonathan at the bowling alley for some great fun. It was too cute watching the little boys bowl. Then we went back home for cake and Icecream. We love you Dad and we hope that the next 30 years are just as good and even better than the first 30!

100 days of school

For Adam's 100th day of school, Adam got to dress up like one of his great grandparents. He couldn't choose between the two he knew so I suggested one he didn't know, his great-grandpa Gleason. He died when I was 15 years old but I remember often seeing him in plaid and a cowboy hat. Adam was excited about that.

Cold and crazy winter

The weather has been doing some pretty crazy things this year, though it hasn't stopped the boys enthusiasm for being outside!

Bennett's exciting first birthday

Happy Happy Birthday Bennett dear! Bennett you are one crazy one-year-old, you are wiggly and loud, you love playing with your brothers and you are pretty good at keeping up with them. This morning one of your brothers spilled a lot of his marbles everywhere and anytime you found one you would pop it in your mouth. Mom did her best at trying to clean any she found and to make you spit out the marbles she didn't find but it was a all-day struggle. You were having a fun birthday. drinking lots of milk and enjoying the taste of the cake batter. True to form you kept your first birthday exciting! I put you down for a nap and about an hour latter I hear really awful coughing from your room. I went in there and you were sitting up, whimpering and shaking. It looked like you were having a hard time breathing too. You didn't really have any signs of being sick before your nap so my thoughts turned back to the marbles you had been putting in your mouth. Did you try to swallow one? Because you were having a hard time breathing we took you right to the urgent care and they told us to go to the ER. So there we were on your first birthday waiting for the Dr to tell us if there was a marble in your chest. There wasn't. It turned out to be the quickest and worst onset of Croup I have ever experienced. They gave you a steroid to help out your lungs, suppository to help if there was a marble, and they sucked out your nose and sent you home. By the time we got home you were in a pretty good mood and we were all breathing better! You had a wild thing cake and had fun with family and balloons. We are so happy you are feeling better! Thanks for keeping your birthday exciting!
