Happy Anniversary... Celebration!

This year Nathaniel really wanted to do some hiking for our Anniversary (and if he really had it his way it would have been camping too)  But often when it reaches our anniversary it is just to chilly up in the mountains.  We decided to celebrate a few weeks early this year.  Thank you Thank you to Grandma Gleason and Aunt Milla who watched and took care of the boys during our over night trip.
The morning we left Adam was being so sweet to Kyle.
Our first stop was Tucano's at the Gateway in Salt Lake, then on to window shopping at city creek center.
We spent the night in a Hotel and had fun being the only ones taking advantage of the swimming pool and the hot tub.
In the morning we went up cottonwood canyon and went on an amazing hike.  The weather was perfect and the colors were breathtaking.
I had been under the impression somehow that the hike was 3 miles round trip tops... I was mistaken and we ended up hiking 3.5 miles straight up the mountain. 7 miles round trip, we made it, and we celebrated.
Love you so much Schatzie! you are my everything and you have given me the best three years of my life!

Family resemblance?

when Adam was just a month or so old we took a picture of him as seen here. this is a picture of Kyle in the same onesie just a few days ago.
They don't look like brothers at all do they?

goodness I see pictures of Adam like the post here, and think I am looking at a picture of Kyle, except for the lip... the lip is all Adam:)  I love my cute boys!

Cook Family reunion

this family reunion was a blast as well! Canoeing on the Snake river, swinging on the porch, olympics, and a whole day at yellowstone!  unfortunately, right after we saw old faithful adam threw dads phone at a bench... and it broke. all of the pictures from the reunion were on that phone and most of them randomly disappeared.  sad. maybe we shall find them one day.
one of the couple that did survive... the other was of the floor.

The Zoo

Before heading up to Island Park Idaho for the Cook family reunion, we went to Hogle zoo! we stayed for the morning and seem to be able to see and do all that we wanted. The weather was perfect and the animals were amazing.
 Kyle did great
Nathaniel has a picture of him drinking from this same fountain when he was a kid
the fox came right up to Adam
Kyle and a crocodile! (bottom right in the corner)
this polar bear was such a ham for the crowds and was so fun to watch
Tigers! Adam got really good at answering the question "what does a tiger say?" "Rawrr!"
so fun to watch things under water!

A wedding

Nathaniel's sister Brianne spent four months in Israel this summer and we were so happy to have her back, to hear all about her experiences and see her again. As much as we were happy to see her someone else was probably ten times more excited... her fiancee Dustin.  they got engaged way back in January and got married just a couple weeks after Brianne got home! We enjoyed going up to Idaho and Logan Utah for the sealing.  The Reception was the most unique one I have been to ever and it fit Brianne's personality exactly. The whole day was just beautiful and seeing Brianne and Dustin so much in love made me fall even more in love with my hubby.  We were stilling kisses all day long and just love everything about it.

Waiting for the bride and groom.

Kyle... this is how he was most of the trip.

Gleason Family Reunion

Other than some sleep issues with Adam, we had a ton of fun. Hiking, zip line, box hockey, climbing poles, balance beam pillow fights, marshmallow wars, camp fire, good food and wonderful family.  It was a blast and can't wait til next year!
Adam loved the cars

Gardening

When we moved to Springville I was so excited at the prospects of having a garden.  My mom often had a garden at home and though I helped some with weeding and de-rocking the garden plot, I never felt that it was my garden.  Amazing enough, my own garden grew and I am now reaping the benefits.  I love the time I have been able to spend in the dirt planting and weeding.
Squash, zucchini, carrots, cucumber, and beets.... yummy!
Adam eating a fresh picked carrot

Adam has been having some additional fun as he realized that as a two year old he can do a lot more (or maybe it is just his bids for attention) either way, he has been busy and keeping mom and dad busy too.
 as Adam explained...water!
