Being thankful

I'm not going to try to deceive anyone here, this Thanksgiving season has been rough.  I (mom) have been to Labor and delivery twice to get my crazy contractions to go away and to make sure baby Bennett is going ok. The first time The first of the month, they gave me Terbutalene to take the contractions away, the second time on the 11th, they found a UTI and gave me antibiotics to make the contractions go away. That was at 27 and 29 weeks along.I was put on modified bed rest whech meant anytime contractions started I had to rest. Then earlier this week I had my OB appt and told the doctor how crazy the contractions have been, he sent me over to the hospital to get steroid shots for Bennett, and put me on full bed rest. The Cooks have been here this week and we have had three Thanksgiving dinners, I have been contracting like crazy and often they are painful but unless I really feel like they are progressing towards labor I wont go into the Hospital again.  It has been really hard for me not to be able to do everything I want to do or even the things I rather not do, like cleaning. Just not being able to do those things without risking my baby coming way too early is difficult for me. However, I  really have been trying to keep an attitude of gratitude. I am very grateful that Bennett is still safe, I'm gratful I have been able to spend a lot of time with family and for all they do for me. I am thankful Dad works from home and is so helpful with changing diapers and such. I'm thankful that we have wonderful neighbors and a wonderful ward that are so willing to be helpful. And most of all I am thankful for my Savior who eases my burdens and strengthens my faith. I don't know how long this will last but maybe I have something to learn yet.

The boys had fun with Grandpa and RC cars, Mom made snowflakes for decorations and the green flakes were used for goofballs.

Shaggy

The Boys were in great need of haircuts, and baths

Mom and Son dates

Before this baby comes, and we have no clue when that might be, Mom has been making sure to spend time with the boys individually.  Mom and Adam went to McDonald's for breakfast and then to a friends birthday party at the dinosaur museum. The next weekend Kyle wanted to go to the museum too so Mom and Kyle went there and had lunch after. We loved spending one-on-one time together and talking about everything we saw and did.
Adam made a cast of a claw and dug a toy dino out of a mold

Kyle loved spending all the time he wanted digging for dinosaurs and bones.
I love my boys so much. Colin and Mommy get a lot of snuggle time together. I hope you all know how special you are to me and that I love you each so much. You all have such wonderful personalities and I enjoy spending time with you. Thanks for going out on dates with me!

Once there was a Snowman

Adam and Kyle worked together to make a little snowman (you may have to click on the picture to see it bigger)

And then they knocked it over. :)

First Snow

Today it snowed for the first time this season... Donna was a wee bit excited, and the boys went and danced in the snow with her.

Sweet Halloween

How could you go sour with a Mom and Dad who double as a peanut M&M and a Skittle? It sure doesn't hurt to have the sweetest little fireman, minion and pumpkin, and R2D2 as Halloween buddies. Donna and Uncle Jared came along, but didn't want to dress up. They would have been storm troopers.

Colin was really getting the hang of it by the end of the evening. Mommy stayed at home because she has been having a lot of contractions, but the boys loved it so much!

One of our neighbors makes a home made corn maze every year and this year exceeded expectations. Happy Halloween!

Trunk or Treat

Colin is such a willing subject to sit and help me get a picture of our Halloween decor.
I love how these three boys are learning to play so well together. We had a PJ day and just had a lot of fun doing things in our cozy house and PJ's
We had a lot of fun at our wards carnival and trunk or treat this year, though Colin was a little clingy with all the people around, but there was always someone around willing to pick him up!

Dad was a very sweet skittle

6 years at the homestead

Our anniversary was great this year. We started by driving to Midway and going to the cheese factory there. Dad got some sharp cheddar  and Mom got caramels, and we both got delicious ice cream.

Then we took a ride on the Heber creeper, it was a lot of fun and we will need to bring the boys some day.
We drove around Midway, it is such a beautiful town, especially this time of year. I wouldn't mind one day living there.
We stayed at the homestead resort, which was awesome. we had a yummy dinner and swam in the morning after a delicious breakfast. we headed up to the Outlets at Park City, where we went on out Honeymoon, and did a lot of window shopping, then went to the movies. Dad sprayed Mom's hair bright pink this day but since there is no picture evidence, you can't prove it! Here's to the next six and sixty years. I love you Schatzie!

Snuggle bug, curiosity

I'm going to indulge for a minute and tell you about my snuggle bug. Even though Colin has learned lately how to throw a good fit, he is still the snuggliest little bug I know. It really doesn't even matter when or what he is doing he will take a break in an instant to snuggle. This isn't even a quick two-second snuggle, nope, usually it lasts minutes! I love it, and Daddy loves it too. I hope he never changes.
We had another fun trip to the curiosity museum with Stephanie, Jamison and Calissa.
Kyle liked the topo map generator,
Colin and Calissa hung out at the water table,
and Adam was so sweet manning the produce stand. Other little kids would bring "money" and he would find the fruits and vegetables they wanted.

Jaker's

I felt like being crafty, so I made a wreath.
Then my niece Stephanie called to see if I wanted to join her, Kimberly, and their mom, my sister Sherri at Jaker's once again this year. I was just about to call her and invite her to come with me. We had a great time as usual.
The hay ride went through some of the corn fields this year and everyone loved that part.
The corn pit was super deep this year, and a lot bigger. I didn't even mind finding corn in their pockets or in the van afterward.
I loved spending time with my sister and Nieces (and their husbands) and my boys loved spending time with their kids too. I'm looking forward to next year already!
