Memoral day

Besides the yearly ward picnic and 5K run (bike ride for the boys) this year we did something difference for memorial day. We found an ancestor that was buried in Springville and we visited his grave. In that same cemetery, A couple of Dads baby cousins were buried. It was a cool experience to be able to find and learn about those of our family who have passed on and I hope the boys learned something about respect and honor for those who have gone before us. 

Fighting Illini graduate

Dad graduated with his masters degree in Computer Science from University of Illinois! Mom and Dad took the trip to see campus for the first time. Illinois was beautiful (especially after we changed hotels) and we had a great time exploring Champaign-Urbana. Mothers day was a little sad away from the boys but we are so thankful for Nathaniel's Mom who came out to watch the boys. In honor of the University's colors (actually more because finals were so stressful he didn't have time or energy to shave) Dad is sporting a new beard! We are so happy to have Master Dad all to ourselves again (no offence Uof I) because homework stinks! Congrats and good job Dad!

I know this movie won't show up in my blog book but Bennett is officially walking, and we have recorded proof!

Tip toe through the tulips

I love the tulip festival! this year we got to share it with Aunt Donna and cousin Sarah. Colin got car sick on the ride over but luckily Bennett had extra clothes to share, hence the onesie that doesn't quite fit. Bennett has been taking his first steps, mostly on his toes, but he gets so excited about walking that he gets crazy wiggly. He has his little pirate walk down though!

Easter

April foolishness

April fools day was on a Saturday this year, and on any typical Sunday we have church at one. So because we are awesome parents, we woke the boys up early Saturday morning and told them they needed to get ready for a special session of early Church ASAP. They were all a bit disoriented and didn't seem to understand that it wasn't even Sunday. We got them all in the truck, and drove to the Church and when we got there no one was there! Imagine that! oh, Mom forgot that we were meeting at a special church. So we drove to Pleasant grove and parked across the Street from a church building which happened to be at daylight donuts.   They were pretty pleased with our April Fools prank. We were too :) We went to the park afterward, mostly still in our church clothes.

This weekend also happened to be General Conference as well. I feel so blessed to have my wonderful family to make great memories with.

Mom got to watch baby Sarah while Dad helped uncle Jared and Aunt Donna move to their new place. (I'm her favorite ;)

Bennett learned that it is hilarious to lift up moms shirt and jiggle her belly, here he is trying it on dad. he even says something that sounds like jiggle jiggle jiggle.

Colin starts preschool!

I can't believe my sweet little snuggler is starting preschool! I'm going to miss him, three hours a day, two days a week. I'll admit I was a little emotional, he is only three! but he did great. I hope this will really help him learn to talk.  He enjoyed a nice after-school snack with his big brother Kyle.

But the next day...Colin has school on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but not Wednesdays, which is awful when you have your heart set on going with your older brother when he leaves for school. He was devastated for over half an hour. He sent himself to his room and would not be consoled. I think he likes preschool!

Meet Wanda and Zoozo

Dad and Mom have been looking for a pop-up camper to go along with the truck Dad got in February. Dad started looking at full size campers and Mom wasn't convinced we wanted anything more than a pop-up.  We decided to have a look at a hybrid. A mix between the two. Then we met Wanda. Mom felt at home right away and Dad liked the size and the price was right. So we got her. Wanda is a Thor Wanderer and we have already taken her camping.  Which will be an experience we will never forget, including but not limited to: going places and trying to turn around where only ATV's should fit, Mom watching Wanda's tires start to slide off a ravine, sleeping comfortably, waking up to a pack of coyotes not to far away, driving through a tunnel that was built for trains but never even got tracks laid, saying multiple prayers that we could get out of our campsite safely and backing up about 150 meters over a skinny road that was all too treacherous the first time while going forward. Prayers were answered. It was an adventure and we made it out safe, if not dirtier. Next time we will stick to friendlier paths! Oh and before I forget to mention, we had pie day in Wanda too!
